The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch A lot of professors give talks titled “The Last Lecture.” Professors are asked to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them. And while they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same question: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy? When Randy Pausch, a computer science […]

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme started by Sheila at Book Journeys and now hosted by Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and Jen Vincent, of Teach Mentor Texts. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…you just might discover […]
The Testing Trilogy by Joelle Charbonneau started out really good. I love puzzles and I love solving puzzles, I love people who think outside of the box. Cia, the protagonist of the story, is one of those people. She’s really good at problem solving and figuring things out, and it was really interesting getting inside her head. From Goodreads: The Seven Stages War left much of the planet a charred wasteland. The future belongs to the next generation’s chosen few […]
I used to do monthly wrap-ups for the books I read, but wrap-ups for only books don’t cut it anymore. I have so much else going on in my life that I would love to share with you and I’ve noticed many other bloggers doing wrap-ups for everything going on in their lives, so I decided that this is what I’m going to do too from now on. So here’s my monthly wrap-up for August: Tarot Two significant things happened […]
Last week I got a surprise: I can’t stop grinning! Guess what @guitarlone surprised me with today? ? I knew it was a good idea to leave my tarot deck wish list out where he could see them. ? Can’t wait to try them out! Thanks so much, dear! ??? #tarot #tarotdecks #tarotwishlist #paulinatarot #dreamingwaytarot #fairylightstarot #tarotreadersofinstagram A photo posted by Hazellie (@hazelliewong) on Aug 26, 2015 at 9:05pm PDT I’ve been playing around and experimenting with the […]
Well, I finally finished the last book of The Hunger Games trilogy (for the 4th time! Did I mention that?) after crying and moaning about how I didn’t want it to end (again). I cried so much near the ending. Those who have read it knows why (*sob!*), but I don’t want to spoil it for the others who haven’t read it yet. (Why the hell not?! What’s wrong with you?!) And I have a major book hangover right now. […]
A few weeks ago, I came across this book and posted on Instagram about it. The Girl Who Was On Fire is a non-fiction collection of essays from some of the most famous YA authors about The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
A few weeks ago, I read Jenny Han’s book To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and I was completely smitten, and of course I had to get my hands on the next book, P.S. I Still Love You. I only finished the second book a few days ago, and to be quite honest, I liked the first book a whole lot better.
If you’ve been following my blog (or lack of), you’ll know that I haven’t been active these last few months. Probably longer. I’d been busy working on my tarot business; readings, courses, website, and various personal things as well. I still read though, because I can’t not read, but I just wasn’t blogging about the books I read. I’m not going to bother catching up with reviewing all the books I’ve read, but I will definitely write a couple of […]
I was only going to read a few pages during breakfast, I swear! But it was so sweet and so interesting, and Kasie’s writing just pulled in me, and… I couldn’t stop reading!
